Do
you have a mobile technician work force? Do
they need to carry more than a printed work
order with them to a service call? How about
empowering them with more information such as:
- Complete
Service Work Order Details
- History
of all work done on the job to date, by any
member of your service team
- Complete
list of all parts available ex-stock for ease
of selection on jobs
- Full
customer site information, directions, contact
info, etc.
- Complete
Asset/Equipment information including serial
number and description
Are
your technicians sick of carrying around heavy
clipboards, and folder contraptions? Wouldn't
it give a better impression to the customer
if they were carrying around the latest in technical
devices and making life simpler for them at
the same time?
|
|
|
 |
And
how about giving them the ability to enter labor
and parts consumed in service while they are
either on the job, or right afterwards? No more
handwriting what was done, and faxing it back
to the office. No more entry at the end of the
day on the web, duplicating what they already
captured in the field.
And
what about that incredible perception you will
create when you ask the customer to sign off
on the completed service call with a stylus
on a PDA? What better impression could you leave
the customer with in terms of the efficiency
and sophistication of your service organization....
|
|
| Well
now you can have all of this with Eclipse PDA,
the add-on product to the sophisticated Eclipse Professional
Service Management System. Eclipse PDA is designed to
run on Palm OS enabled devices. By adding an
extra application to your PDA, you can now cradle sync
your PDA unit with your Eclipse Professional database.
Its easy and simple to transfer what you have captured
in the field back to Eclipse, and to have Eclipse send
you all of the new service calls and information that
you have been allocated to. |
|
The
Eclipse PDA software installs on your PDA device,
and also has a partner 'conduit' program that runs
on your computer workstation. You dock your PDA with
the computer, and it will connect with Eclipse and
allow you to receive all Active service calls right
into your PDA. When you are on the road, you have
access to all the information you need for the service
call, the site location, the assets/equipment that
you have to service, etc. It even loads down a complete
list of your parts that you routinely keep in stock
so you have pricing information at hand and can reference
these parts as they are used on the job. Your labor
is entered into the PDA, and through the use of intelligent
pull down menus of routine phrases that you use in
resolving problems, you can minimize the amount of
data entry on the PDA.
There
is even a place for your customer to sign off on the
acceptance of the work right on the PDA unit! This
signature is sent back to Eclipse as an image and
is stored in the Eclipse database to authorize the
billing of the job when you synchronize back with
the main system.
Let's
take a look in detail at the screens of Eclipse PDA.
|
|
When
you start Eclipse PDA, and after you have initialzed
the software, it knows who you are. Therefore
the jobs that are active and allocated to you
are displayed:
|
|
|
|
You
select the job that you wish to work on by clicking
on it with the stylus on your PDA. The job is
then displayed in detail, first with the site
information of where you have to go, who your
contact person is, phone numbers, etc.
|
|
|
|
The
details of the work order itself is displayed
when you select the 'Work Order' option from
the pull down menu. This brings up the following
screen:
|
|
|
|
You
can also get equipment/asset information of
the item that has to be serviced as another
pull down option from the Work order detail
screen, like so:
|
|
|
|
Any
labor that is on file for a work order, regardless
of the technician that did the work is displayed
off the Work Order. The labor listing looks
like this:
|
|
|
|
Adding
a labor entry is easy. Just click on the Add
button, and you can enter the start and end
dates, times, etc. You can choose from standard
phrases for the work done, or enter in details
yourself through your PDA's text entry capability.
|
|
|
|
Part
entry is just as simple. You can see a list
of any parts used on the job, and add to this
list if required.
|
|
|
|
Part
addition is simplified by the part selector
available. If you are adding a part that isn't
a 'standard' part, you can also add this as
a 'Non-stock' item and enter the complete part
details if required.
|
|
|
|
And
when the job is done, you don't need to have
paperwork with you. Get the customer to sign
off on the job right on the PDA screen. Its
even provided upside-down to enable you to easily
pass the PDA to the customer while standing
in front of them, for their signature. This
signature, along with any other data you have
captured against jobs in the field is synchronized
back to Eclipse and stored in the Eclipse database.
|
|
|
|
Its
that simple. Eclipse PDA empowers your technicians
in the field with the information that they need to
do their job. It eliminates any double entry or capture
of information because the PDA will synchronize right
back to your Eclipse server. Its simple and rugged
and runs on most PalmOS enabled devices. So why not
get started with this great technology. Contact
